BMW 3 Series Saloon
BMW Edition models
March 2008
BMW is introducing a new tier for the BMW 1, 3 and Z4 models. It will feature a range of special colour choices, interior options, and specification enhancements on four-cylinder cars, under the name of Edition.
Sports Hatch derivatives of the BMW 1 Series Edition ES will come in 116i and 118d guises. At a cost of £250 more than the current ES models, the Edition ES derivatives will include 17-inch star-spoke alloy wheels, sports seats in upgraded upholstery, three-spoke multi-function leather steering wheel, and front fog lights. Purchased as options, that would total £1340.
The BMW 3 Series, one of the most popular models on Comcar, will also come in Edition ES, as well as Edition SE and Edition M Sport for the four-cylinder petrol and diesel engines in Saloon and Touring models.
Carbon Black, Titanium Silver, or Sparkling Graphite paint will come standard for Edition ES and Edition SE models. Dakota leather upholstery with Brushed Aluminium trim will feature in their interiors along with a three-spoke M multi-function leather steering wheel. To complete the package, 17-inch V-spoke alloy wheels are also included, for what would total about £3000 if sold individually. The Edition ES and SE will be £750 more than the existing models.
The BMW 3 Series Edition M Sport models will have 18-inch alloy wheels, a Business Navigation system, Bluetooth mobile telephone connectivity, and ConnectDrive Online and Assist telematics as standards - for £1000 more than the current models. The Edition M Sport package would cost £3100 as options.
Not to be left out, the BMW Z4 roadster will feature 2.0i Edition Exclusive and Edition Sport models too. BMW will make only 300 of these in 2008.
Z4 buyers who want the Edition Exclusive can choose from Sapphire Black, Stratus Grey, Space Grey, Titan Silver, or Montego Blue for their paint. Soft Nappa leather upholstery, Piano Black interior trim, and 17-inch Star-spoke alloy wheels round things out and all for an additional £1045, with a savings of £1835. For the BMW Z4 Edition Sport, Bi-colour New England leather sports seats, Individual Bi-colour interior trim, and 18-inch Composite Star-spoke light-alloy wheels are, as standards, £775 more than the current Sport models, a savings of £1725.
The BMW 1, 3 and Z4 Edition models will go into production in March, but they are available for order now. Need help deciding which one could go to work for you? Take a look at our Tax Calculator.
