In May you will be able to take home the most powerful production car Audi has ever made. Or you would if Audi hadn't already allocated their first year's production to interested customers. It has a V10 engine with two turbo chargers, an output of 580PS and goes 0-62 in 4.6 seconds. That such a car also seats five and has 1660 litres of luggage space, means that there are not many vehicles one could compare to the Audi RS 6 Quattro Avant.

Quattro four-wheel-drive with standard 40:60 front-to-rear torque split, a ventilated all-disc braking system, parking sensors, 20 inch alloy wheels, twin-oval exhausts, and Dynamic Ride Control all come standard on UK models. Dynamic Ride Control is designed to increase handling precision and stability and has three damper settings from which the driver can choose: comfort, dynamic, and sport.

The Electronic Stability Programme for the RS 6 quattro has been programmed to 'intervene as late as possible' according to Audi, allowing for more driver control. The ESP system can even be turned off.

Interior features include boost pressure and oil temperature readouts, milled finish door handles, aluminium-look pedals, DAB digital radio, DVD Navigation, RS specific front sport seats and Satin Nappa leather seats.

Audi has utilized FSI direct petrol injection for the RS 6 quattro, which minimizes the amount of fuel used in each combustion cycle and puts the RS 6 at 20.1 mpg combined.

£77,625 is the price tag for the powerful Audi RS 6 quattro Avant. The RS 6 range is set to expand this year and will be available as a saloon in the middle of 2008.
